ControlPad turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a wireless trackpad and keyboard. It can work with Windows, OS X, and Linux. No installation is necessary for OS X (including 10.4 Tiger, Lion not currently supported) and some versions of Linux (like Ubuntu). Since it leverages VNC for remote control, it can be used with other operating systems that support VNC.

** Due to changes to Screen Sharing in Lion, ControlPad does not currently support Lion.

Personally, I use ControlPad to manage my old PowerBook that I use as a home theater PC (HTPC). Normally, I dont have a keyboard or mouse hooked up to it so I often put off doing any sort of maintenance on it. ControlPad makes it easy for me to quickly connect to it and run updates or check on things.

Features:
- Custom keyboard with function keys
- Sticky modifier keys
- Landscape support
- Tap to click left click
- Two finger tap right click
- Two finger vertical scrolling
- No installation necessary on OS X (including 10.4 Tiger, Lion not currently supported) and some Linux hosts
- Can use existing VNC server

If you find the tracking speed to be too slow, or wish to disable certain "tap to click" functions, you can access the settings inside the "Settings" application .

If you are using it with Windows, you may need to configure your firewall. You will need to add an exception for port 5900 and/or an exception for the VNC Server you installed.

If you are using OS X and you are having difficulties connecting, you may also need to adjust the firewall settings to allow "Screen Sharing" to accept incoming connections. The firewall settings are located at: Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Security -> Firewall
